Timber trading is too often mistakenly associated with the global threat of deforestation. It is in fact one of the most highly regulated industries across the globe: Every year, only small areas of forests with very specific characteristics are eligible to be exploited for trading. At Karambois, we measure every day the drastic importance of forests to the human environment, and strive to ensure that all our products are sourced from responsible and controlled forests.

Interesting fact: Less than 10% of today's forests would be enough to supply the global timber demand forever. This is in part due to the fact that each tree that has been used has to be replaced by a new one. Moreover, old and unmanaged forests cease to be a source of oxygen because of the decay process, unlike managed and constantly renewed forests.
